Last evening we received a call from a member sailing in the Abaco region of the Bahamas. Her husband was having a cardiac event. We coordinated their landing and responded immediately picking up and bringing them to a cardiac treatment facility in Ft Lauderdale.
No other medevac unit in the area could provide such an immediate response and scene treatment. Our entire flight crew worked seamlessly with the ground personnel and the patients family to coordinate the successful event outcome.
